The PriceStats Daily World Food Inflation Index is a composite for the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Greece, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Russia, South Africa, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Uruguay, Turkey, and Argentina. The index uses the non-seasonally adjusted food and non-alcoholic beverages component of the CPI of each country, with weightings based on the final household consumption expenditure of 2010, in current dollars, from the World Bank. When new country-level PriceStats indices are released, they are incorporated into this index without updating historical values.
*Weighted aggregate using data from the statistical office of each country and Eurostat. We update the historical values when these organizations do.
