Concerns that trade policy uncertainty will lead to capital flight from the US are only partly borne out in the hard data.

Foreign asset managers did reduce their equity, long-bond and USD exposures together in February and March.

But the second half of April has seen  investors return to US equities, while USD flows have stabilised. For now, it is ‘only’ flows into long-dated Treasuries which remain unusually weak.
